Statistics Calculator

Enter a list of numbers (comma, space, or newline separated) to instantly compute: count, sum, mean, median, mode, min, max, range, population standard deviation, and sample standard deviation. Runs entirely in your browser.

Browser-local No signup required Utility

Calculate count, sum, mean, median, mode, minimum, maximum, range, population standard deviation, and sample standard deviation from a list of numeric values.

How to calculate descriptive statistics

  1. Enter numbers separated by spaces, commas, or semicolons.
  2. Press Calculate, or wait for the automatic calculation after editing.
  3. Review count, sum, center, range, and standard-deviation results.
  4. Check the mode field for one or several tied most-frequent values.

Statistics used by this calculator

Population standard deviation divides squared deviations by N, while sample standard deviation divides by N-1 and is unavailable for a single value.

If every value occurs once, the tool reports no mode. If several values share the highest frequency, all of them are listed. Numeric output is generally formatted to about six significant digits.

Privacy and limitations

Statistics are computed in the browser and this application does not send the entered dataset to an external server. Results use JavaScript floating-point arithmetic and basic descriptive formulas; the tool does not provide confidence intervals, weighted statistics, missing-value handling, or arbitrary-precision computation.

Statistics Calculator FAQ

Which statistics are calculated?

Count, sum, mean, median, mode, min, max, range, population standard deviation, and sample standard deviation.

What happens if there are several modes?

All values tied for the highest frequency are shown.

What if every value appears once?

The tool reports that there is no mode.

What is the difference between the two standard deviations?

Population standard deviation divides by N; sample standard deviation divides by N-1.

Can I use commas as separators?

Yes, along with spaces and semicolons. Commas here are separators, not locale-aware decimal separators.
