Morse Code Translator

Encode text to Morse code and decode Morse back to text.

Browser-local No signup required Encode / Decode

Convert ordinary text to Morse code or decode Morse code back into readable text. Votilo supports letters A–Z, digits, and a useful set of punctuation marks. The conversion happens locally in your browser, so the text you enter does not need to be uploaded to a server.

How to use the Morse code translator

  1. Type or paste normal text in the text box to encode it, or enter Morse symbols in the Morse box to decode them.
  2. Choose the conversion direction with the Text → Morse or Morse → Text button.
  3. Review the converted result. Words in encoded Morse are separated with a slash.
  4. Copy either the original text or the converted Morse result when you need it elsewhere.

Morse code conversion and supported input

Morse code represents characters with sequences of dots and dashes. This translator covers the Latin alphabet A–Z, numbers 0–9, and common punctuation such as periods, commas, question marks, quotation marks, slashes, parentheses, @ and several other symbols. Plain-text input is converted to uppercase before encoding.

When decoding, separate Morse symbols for individual characters with spaces and separate words with “ / ”. Unsupported plain-text characters or unrecognized Morse sequences are shown as a question mark so that you can see where the conversion could not be completed.

Privacy and limitations

Encoding and decoding run entirely in your browser and do not require a network request. This tool is intended for text conversion and learning or reference workflows; it does not play audio, detect Morse from sound, or support every historical or language-specific Morse extension.
