Margin & Markup Calculator
Four calculation modes in one view: (1) cost + price → margin % + markup % + profit; (2) cost + margin % → price + profit; (3) cost + markup % → price + margin %; (4) price + margin % → cost + profit. Pure math reference — not financial advice. Runs entirely in your browser.
Calculate profit, margin, markup, selling price, or cost from several common retail pricing combinations, with results updating locally as you type.
How to calculate margin and markup
- Choose the card that matches the values you already know.
- Enter cost, selling price, margin percentage, or markup percentage as required.
- Read the calculated result and copy it if needed.
How the formulas work
Margin is profit divided by selling price, while markup is profit divided by cost; the tool also rearranges those formulas to solve for price or cost.
Values are rounded for display to at most four decimal places, and impossible divisions such as a 100% target margin can produce an unavailable result.
Privacy and limitations
All pricing calculations run in your browser and no commercial data is sent anywhere. The tool is a mathematical calculator only and does not include tax, fees, discounts, shipping, currency conversion, or accounting rules.
