Image Color Picker & Palette Extractor

Load an image, click any pixel to inspect its HEX and RGB color, and extract a representative palette of 4 to 12 colors. Copy individual colors with one click. Canvas-based analysis runs locally without uploading the image.

Browser-local No signup required Utility

Pick an exact pixel color from a selected image and generate a small approximate dominant palette locally, with copyable HEX values and RGB information.

How to pick colors from an image

  1. Choose an image and let the browser draw a working preview.
  2. Click a pixel to see its HEX, RGB, and mapped original-image position.
  3. Choose a palette size from 4 to 12 and extract representative colors.

How palette extraction works

For palette extraction the image is sampled down, transparent pixels below the alpha threshold are skipped, colors are grouped into coarse RGB buckets, and visually close candidates are filtered.

The palette is a lightweight frequency-based approximation, not a perceptual color-science or machine-learning clustering result.

Privacy and limitations

The selected image is processed with browser canvas APIs and is not uploaded. Very large images are downsampled for palette extraction, so the palette is intentionally approximate.
